Today, I’m excited to announce the start of the OHL Historical Boxscore Project. The purpose of this project is to uncover old box scores from seasons that aren’t available online (anything prior to the 1997-98 season). Once all games are found, they will be available for everybody on this site. Whether you’re a statistician or historian looking to do some research, a fan or former player looking to relive some memories, or just someone who wants to browse through them, this might be something of interest to you.
With a project as large as this, it’s not something that I can do alone. That’s why I’m looking for a little bit of help from you. If you have a photo or scan of a legible box score, or have access to microfilm with some of these box scores on them, please send me a DM on Twitter or an email to ohlhistory20@gmail.com with the boxscores that you have or are able to obtain (1996-97 and older). I have access to many of the scores from Windsor and Ottawa (primarily home game boxscores). I will also be able to get scores from Kitchener in the near future, so I have those three teams somewhat covered. Any help with the gaps in those scores and with other teams is much appreciated.
In the meantime, I will start posting some of the ones that I have already compiled, starting with the 1996-97 Windsor Spitfires, which will be posted here later today.
